TOEFL Write-up

It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay.

Where would you want your child to be raised? In a city or a countryside? Some people would say city, since they can have a social life and have a better education and whatever reasons they may have. I would rather raise my child in the countryside. Where you want to raise your child will affect they're life a lot so you must think properly about where you want your child's childhood to take place. There are several reasons I would raise my child in the countryside.

Teenagers nowadays are not trained to live the hard life and later in the future suffer from what they have to adjust to. Living in the countryside helps your kid to mature better in such a way that you are independent, you learn to live life the hard way so you wont have trouble later. You don't get spoilt by your parents either. Children have to live their life the way their parents live which is a simple life. They're lifestyle may not be as good as in the cities but at least they don't have problems with money and how they're living. Some of their parents job must be farming for a living, selling those crops and earning for a living, their children then follow what they're parents do and how they're parents taught them to. In the cities the child sees other people having gadgets or high technology products and you might not be able to afford but somehow you must get it for your child so that they will be satisfied, that way the child gets spoilt and thinks whatever he/she asks from the parents they will get but in the future they must learn to earn their own money.

Regarding education and the environmental influence on the child, countryside does have education, maybe not as good as cities do but they obviously. That doesn't mean your child doesn't learn anything, nowadays education in the countryside has also grown a lot. They have better schools, teachers from cities or abroad, and many other facilities. Some kids are home-schooled, since they're parents are educated, they're parents can teach them what they need to know in life and other things. Learning in the countryside also helps you learn more about how you have to live your life in difficulty if needed. You don't only learn different subjects but learn real life skills. As for the environmental influence your kid might have is bad, because of how the society is nowadays. When your child makes friends its important to stick to the group where you know your limits and your friends know theirs, peer pressure is very great among friends, your child's friends might pressure him/her to do some bad things. That’s why in the countryside kids there are more innocent and connect with nature more than hang out with friends.

In the cities health issues are very great. Pollution is in the air everyday, which spoils your health. Pollution can be very dangerous at some point. When there’s rain, it falls down as acid; you can get certain diseases from the rain and the pollution in the air. In the countryside there is not much pollution since not many cars and not many factories are set up there. Countryside is much safer than big cities where there's even pollution in the rain that comes down as precipitation.

In conclusion I would say that I would raise my child in the countryside since there’s less hassle. You don't have to worry about the bad influence their friends might have on your child. The pollution is less, your child learns to live life the hard way and learns more that way. I think the best part of living in the countryside is that you can connect with nature and learn all about it. As it is nowadays global warming is affecting the earth and people really don't care about how our world will just sink. It is better to stay in the countryside with all the trees to give you good oxygen.

Hamlet: Response Journal; Act 1 scene 1-5

The play makes me want to know how hamlet will handle the situation meeting the dead king hamlet. It made me alittle scared knowing that they met a ghost which is also king hamlet. Knowing how disgusted hamlet is with his mom's and uncle's marriage he listens to his father and decides to take revenge. I think this whole situation gets me alittle worried about what hamlet's actually going to do to his uncle but not his mother. It gives me goose bumps to know that hamlet has met his fathers ghost and wasn't afraid to see him.

In my experience i think i was similar to prince hamlet that i would take revenge for my father who i love and not my mom who actually married my uncle even though its disgusting i would respect my mom and also take revenge as my father has said.
In some ways i feel alittle selfish just like king Claudius, he only wants fame, money, and all lavish things he wanted. I feel the same at some points when i want something and i dont get it i feel greedy.
My experience of being Horatio and Marcellus feeling scared and wanting to just mean it as a dream. I've had experiences like that where i saw weird things and decided to tell someone about what i saw and make them believe like Horatio did when Marcellus and Bernardo told him about the ghost. No one belived me but once they saw it they too believed. I have similar experiences.

I would say his language is very difficult to understand according to me but i like the way he put things in a very dramatic way and how he actually made me feel i was there in the scene. His use of old english is very different like; 'tis' used for someother things. His scences are really connecting with each other and the way he puts things in the scence.

I dont understand what things mean in specific scences like the time when Hamlet talks to himself after his uncle's and mom's marriage. Every time the guards see the ghost i get confused how they're reacting to the situation.

Spectator Sport- Dream World Outing

*Yawns*, morning mom, morning dad, it's 7:30 in the morning and I'm all set to have some wild time. I look at the mirror and realize that I am in a big mess. My hair is not combed, I haven't showered, Im wearing my pajamas and basically messed up! Oh no! It's 7:30 and I'm in my pajama's, I quickly take a shower, tumble down the stairs, grab some breakfast and I'm out of the house. I had to make it on time for the van, I thought to myself. Friends were waiting in school. We made a plan to go to Dream World. I was worried i wouldn't make it on time since the given time was 9. I reached got on the van and was off to Dream World. I suddenly just felt butterflies roaming in my stomach, I was scared by how the games actually looked. I backed out for a minute, then a friend of mine knew i was terrified, so she calmed me down and I gave it a second thought to try out the adventerous games. Entering gave me this weird feeling of excitement and nervousness. People like me hate trying out new things or adventures but since I was with a friend who trusted me and convinced me, she helped me overcome some of my fears. "Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed. I just had seen this humongous ride which had  about 15-20 seats and went upside down continuously. My friends were all excited for this ride but me, nah uh this isn't quite my thing. My  friend elucidated  me to ride on it and she was successful. Sitting on my seat I sighed, "what happened Gur?" she asked. "I'm scared Ishita, I really am scared" I said. "Its okay If i can ride it you can too" she said importunely "Right" I said mediately. She imbued me. The ride began, it went up slowly, which got me even more scared, Oh my gosh its time to go upside down. It was amazing! I thanked Ishita so much for letting me have a once in a life time experience, it was just how she extricated my fears . I really enjoyed my day out with my friends and felt so stupid to be scared for a simple ride like that.

Having a tough time..

Heyu there..grade 10 getting tough each day as it goes on. I'm glad it's going tough so i can learn things and work as hard as possible. Honestly i'm not quite liking this school year so far, it's pretty boring but i believe it will get better as we pass through the quarters. I'm having a tough time with a few subjects such as physics, geometry and a few others, but i'm ok with them. I'm enjoying English class because we have been doing different things every time we get in class and hope this excitement goes on. Today in English we did vocabulary like we do every Monday it got easier than last time we did it because we got concept of it and knew the steps of doing it. Last year's English class, we had 30 words in  2 weeks this time its 60 in a week or 2 weeks? But its good in a way because we get to learn more and new words..well..burbyee ill b bak!! :P

Second Week

Hey peeps...Tomorrow's Friday!! Yipee!! haha. Well this is the second week of school and its already stressing more and more, teachers tend to give more work. Quizzes and test are coming up and i'm pretty stressed about it. But overall schools going great so far, I like all the teachers and i'm learning to manage my time wisely. Though things are getting tougher i'll have to learn how to manage it and live with it because this is life...
